I really hate the manufactures making consumers created their own Recovery Discs. So far I have had 4 bad Recovery Disc Creation sessions.
I got a call a few days ago from a friend’s relatives about their computer. It was a Compaq Presario SR1500NX with a broken Optical Drive and depleted BIOS battery. When I first turn the computer on, it started beeping; indicating problems with RAM. I opened the case and was surprised by the absence of the RAM; where did the RAM go?
Apparently the computer was taken to a shop a while back and was never repaired. The Optical Drive was still broken and in addition to that they forgot to re-install the RAM.
Well, I dugg deep into my piles of computer parts and found a lot I can use on this computer.
- DL DVD/CD writer
- nVidia GeForce 440MX
- 2x512MB PC2700 RAM
I had to restore the system because it was badly infected with malware.
The computer is actually running much better than it ever was before. I’m going to create the restore discs for this computer next.
